A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. That company processes the request and supplies its results. Our systems do not retain or log those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email is kept as needed to prepare a response. It remains within the operating team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers automatically receive basic technical facts about the visit:

- The referring website, when one is reported

- Visited pages and time spent on them
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics

Giles County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its reference material identifies official routes such as the Giles County Sheriff and Jail, the local courts, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation repository, and the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not turned into a third-party record or consumer report, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the embedded search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and sharing rules govern data submitted to those tools. Review the selected provider's policy before entering a query because this policy does not control its processing.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to government offices, court systems, state agencies, legal resources, or third-party tools. Once a visitor follows an outside link, that destination's privacy policy applies. Read it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:

The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Notice that a minor submitted data will prompt its deletion.
Your Data Rights
Applicable Tennessee law may provide further protections. The Tennessee Public Records Act, T.C.A. §§10-7-503 through 10-7-506, governs access to state and local government records, while T.C.A. §38-6-120 addresses TBI criminal-history access and dissemination. Those laws do not turn this private site into a government custodian. Subject to applicable law, visitors may:

- Request deletion of personal data
- Seek correction of inaccurate information
- Ask for a copy of personal information on file
